Structural Reinforcement Against Panting
Shipbuilders address panting with specific additional structural members concentrated in the bow (and stern) area:

- Panting stringers β additional longitudinal reinforcement in the same high-stress area

Panting vs Pounding
These are related but distinct bow-area stresses:
- Panting β cyclical in-out flexing of plating from pressure variation
